This film clip is part of a psychoeducation film we produced for Servier Nederland Farma BV in 2011. The aim of this film is to inform patients who start with a prescription of Valdoxan on the facts of depression and the correct use of this medicine. By using 3D animation as in this film clip the patient will be able to construct a mindmap of the underlying mechanism of action and the neurophysiology. Not only compliance favours from this, by improved awareness, but maybe also the efficacy of the pharmacotherapeutic treatment itself.
By choosing a successful main character (not shown in this film clip) we aim to destigmatise. Removing the bias “depressed patients are losers” will contribute to a better acceptance of this severe condition in society.
